Events in 2018

The Central Counties Region hosts various events throughout the year.  The first is always in February with the Regional Dinner Dance.

We have various Holiday Meets throughout the country and support national events such as National Feast of Lanterns.

The DA’s within the Region organise some amazing events that are well worth attending.  Please find further information below.

Leicestershire DA invite you:

26th – 28th October 2018 at Uppingham Community College

Nottingham DA invite you:

This year the Goose Fair Meet will be held at Southwell Racecourse from

5th – 7th October 2018.  The Goose Fair has a long standing place in the history of Nottingham that dates back more than 700 years.  Notts DA have helped to celebrate this for 54 years.  This year the Goose Fair Meet will be held at Southwell Racecourse.  There is plenty to do over the weekend with entertainment in the marquee in the evenings, Trade Stalls, Medieval Market and this year Inter DA games.

Southwell is a small  traditional market town with a Minster.  Other places nearby to visit are: The Workhouse (National Trust property). Reg Taylors Swan Sanctuary and Garden Centre, Museum of timekeeping.

Nottingham City is within easy reach with buses nearby.  The fun fair part of the Goose Fair is held at Forest Recreation Ground from Wednesday 3rd to Sunday 7th October and boasts to have over 500 attractions

Central Counties Region hold their Four Carnivals Meet from 2nd to 11th November at Holiday Resort Unity Somerset, Brean.

This Meet covers 4 of the local Carnivals.  If you have never attended one of the carnivals before we can highly recommend that you do.  The carnivals are in the evenings and the parade can take up to three hours to pass you.  They are all lit up and the work that must go into them is amazing.  The costumes of the team on the floats and the decorations of the floats leave lasting memories.

Holiday Resort Unity is a level site and the area that the Region camps in has plenty of electric hook ups and a warm toilet and shower block.  Other facilities on site are a Club house, fish and chip shop, grocery store and launderette.  There is a bus stop outside taking you to the local resorts.
